Your First HYROX: A Casper Athlete’s Race-Week Checklist

Race week for your first HYROX starts with the simple things: travel and gear. Book travel that leaves room for delays, pack your race shoes, a spare set of clothes, and the food and drink you already know agree with you, and write down your station order so you are not trying to remember it on the day.

In the final week, eat familiar food at familiar times, and warm up properly in a busy venue — arrive early, claim a small space, and move through the same warm-up you use in class. A calm, practiced warm-up settles nerves and reminds your body what is coming.

Then pace it. The first two kilometres set up the rest of your race, so start a little slower than feels natural, especially at Casper altitude, and let your breathing settle before you push. If the opening kilometres are controlled, the last stations will not unravel — and you will finish your first HYROX strong.
